The most diverse and expansive wave of the Edge landscape is upon us.  This 'tiny edge,' encompassing Industrial IoT hardware, protocols, discovery, integrations, and management, often presents complexities that mirror those addressed by the humorous story of understanding the foundational nature of the universe.  The popular story, which claims the Earth rests on a giant turtle supported by more turtles 'all the way down,' humorously echoes the complexities we face in understanding the foundational nature of the IIoT universe.
Contrary to the anecdote, we believe that we've identified the 'final turtle' in the stack—a foundational layer of IIoT that brings its own set of challenges yet offers a base for innovation.
In this keynote, we'll explore the multifaceted challenges of cloud-native IIoT and underscore the pivotal role of open source in surmounting the obstacles within this crucial, foundational layer of the Edge.

A tremendous amount of application value will be derived from data collected at the tiny edge. This session will emphasize the vital contributions of open source communities in driving new business value, fostering rapid innovation, and paving the way for a more interconnected and efficient industrial future.
